Marco Bresciani

Aspiring Web Developer

About

Education

At College of Charleston, I have had the opportunity to take many courses that have made my skillset in Computer Science and Graphic Design strong and diverse. These courses include:

  • Data Structures and Algorithms – I learned more about the fundamentals of computer programming that programmers should consider for programs and algorithms they create.
  • Intro to Computer Organization and Assembly Language – I learned about how computers interpret high-level programming languages like Java through low-level assembly languages to perform functions through its hardware.
  • User Interface Development – I experienced the project development cycle of developing applications with easy to use user interfaces and got to develop mock-ups for applications using Figma.
  • Game Programming – I learned how to develop games using Unity and program the controls using the coding language C#.
  • Website Design – I reviewed the basics of website design including HTML, CSS, responsiveness, HTML Forms, HTML Tables, and learned about the Web Accessibility Standards.

Experience

I have had the opportunity to use my skills in internships where I experienced a real-world working environment. I have had two internships over the course of my education:

  • Surfside Web | Surfside Beach, SC (March 2020) – I had a short internship in high school where I learned the basics of WordPress, its block editor, and Elementor at Surfside Web. However, my internship was cut short due to schools closing during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
  • Resilience, Inc. | Remote (June 2021 – June 2023) – After my freshman year at College of Charleston, I wanted to do an internship where I could get some experience in my field of interest, website design. I ended up getting an internship with the non-profit organization Resilience, Inc. where as part of the Web Development Team I created and updated various pages on two websites and helped manage the online store. I was promoted to the Project Manager of the team where I oversaw at least 12 employees by assigning weekly tasks, hosting team meetings, and representing the team at weekly director and project manager meetings.

Outside of these experiences in my field, I have also worked a part-time job as a Floor Attendant at Garden City Pavilion Arcade where I developed my soft skills by assisting customers with issues with the various games and machines present.
